Community of Practice Ideals

Interested in learning how to use the Profile of the SC Graduate Competencies in your context?

The Community of Practice is a FREE, interactive, self-paced learning opportunity created to support educators as they learn how to integrate the PSCG Competencies into student learning. Participants can earn 6 renewal credit hours per module completed. Start your learning with the Community of Practice Overview and then choose from six modules based on your needs.

The six Community of Practice modules are:

  • Community of Practice Course Overview
  • Student-Led Inquiry
  • Explicit Skill & Strategy Instruction
  • Self-Regulated Learning
  • Conferencing & Feedback
  • Expanded Talk
  • Change Leadership (coming soon)

When deciding which Community of Practice Learning module(s) to choose,
consider the following questions:

  • What practices do I currently implement that would be complemented by one of the Community of Practice modules?
  • What practice do I need more support in as I move towards a more personalized, competency-based approach?
  • Which module interests me the most?
  • Which module would challenge my thinking the most?

To learn more about each of the individual modules, how each of them helps make the Profile of the SC Graduate actionable, and what they have to offer, please preview the Community of Practice Introduction Slide Deck.
